ABOUT EIDA
Formal education gives designers an essential technical and creative foundation. But entering the industry requires another layer of capability.
Designers must learn how to communicate their thinking, interpret people as well as briefs, present with confidence, understand commercial realities, navigate workplace expectations and demonstrate value beyond aesthetics.
EIDA exists to help bridge that transition.
It is an independent professional development academy combining real industry experience, personalised mentoring, group coaching, practical education and the professional capabilities designers need to build meaningful, sustainable careers. EIDA does not seek to replace formal education. It exists to strengthen what designers are able to do with it.
WHY EIDA EXISTS
The part of becoming a designer that no qualification can complete for you.
Throughout my career, I have met talented graduates with strong technical foundations, compelling portfolios and enormous potential. But many entered the industry without a clear understanding of how to communicate professionally, navigate workplace dynamics, interpret clients, demonstrate commercial value or build a career with intention.
At the same time, I saw practices searching for emerging designers who could do more than produce technically competent work. They needed designers who could listen, think, communicate, collaborate, take responsibility and grow into trusted members of a team.
That gap stayed with me.
I did not start an academy simply because coaching had become popular. I waited until I had accumulated the project experience, business experience, failures, lessons, leadership and industry perspective required to teach from a place of genuine experience.
EIDA was created to transfer that experience and help build the designers our profession needs next.
OUR PRINCIPLES
01.
Technical skill is the foundation, not the finish line.
Technical capability gives designers the ability to enter the profession. Communication, judgement, commercial awareness and influence determine how they progress within it.
02.
Professional capability can be developed
Confidence, leadership, client communication and professional presence are not qualities reserved for a select few. They can be understood, practised and strengthened.
03.
Experience should be transferred, not guarded.
The profession becomes stronger when experienced practitioners share the lessons, realities and knowledge that cannot always be found in a textbook.
04.
Human and commercial
skills matter.
Design is created for people, communicated by people and delivered through people. Understanding behaviour, relationships, business and value is essential.
05.
Education should continue beyond qualification.
Graduation is not the end of a designer’s education. It is the beginning of learning how to apply knowledge within the realities of professional practice.

THE SIGNATURE EIDA FRAMEWORK
THE E.L.I.T.E METHOD
™
A professional operating system for becoming a more valuable designer.
The E.L.I.T.E Method™ sits behind every EIDA program, mentoring relationship and learning experience.
It develops the way designers understand themselves, understand others, communicate their thinking and elevate the value they bring to their clients, teams and industry.

EMBODY
Develop the self-awareness, identity, standards and professional confidence required to take ownership of your role as a designer.
LISTEN
Go beyond hearing words. Learn to recognise client needs, team dynamics, commercial priorities, context and the information that is not always communicated directly.
INTERPRET
Make sense of the brief, the person, the problem, the limitations and the greater objective before reaching for a design solution.
TRANSLATE
Turn ideas and understanding into clear design decisions, compelling rationale, professional communication and outcomes others can confidently support.
ELEVATE
Raise the standard of your work, professionalism, influence, contribution and leadership, while creating greater value for everyone involved.
WAYS TO WORK WITH EIDA
Professional development with depth, direction and purpose.

Small Group Coaching
EIDA group coaching brings a carefully selected group of designers together for structured professional development, guided discussion and shared accountability.
It combines individual insight with the perspective and connection that comes from learning alongside other designers at a similar career stage.

Organisation Coaching
EIDA works with educational institutions, design practices, professional associations and industry organisations to develop stronger, more capable designers.
Programs can be delivered as workshops, intensives, multi-session coaching pathways or tailored professional development experiences.
THE FIRST EIDA PATHWAY
The EIDA Graduate Pathway
From qualification to professional capability.
The EIDA Graduate Mentoring Pathway is a selective three-level development program created for qualified graduates and emerging interior designers transitioning into professional practice.
Participants receive both individual mentoring and small-group coaching, allowing them to benefit from personalised guidance while developing alongside a carefully selected peer cohort.
The pathway is progressive. Each level builds on the one before it, helping designers strengthen their career readiness, professional capability and ability to contribute within a real design environment.

THE PATHWAY
LEVEL 01.
INDUSTRY READINESS
From qualified graduate to credible industry candidate.
Level 1 helps graduates understand who they are becoming as professionals and how to position themselves more effectively as they enter the industry. The focus is not simply on finding any role. It is on developing the clarity, communication and professional readiness required to pursue the right opportunities and make a stronger first impression.
LEVEL 02.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
From credible candidate to capable emerging practitioner.
Level 2 moves beyond gaining entry into the industry and focuses on how an emerging designer performs, communicates and contributes once inside it.
Participants develop the human, professional and commercial capabilities required to become more trusted by clients, leaders, colleagues and project teams.
LEVEL 03.
ELITE STUDIO MENTORSHIP
From capable emerging practitioner to valuable professional.
Level 3 prepares emerging designers to take greater ownership of their decisions, contribution and long-term career direction.
The focus shifts towards professional judgement, leadership, influence and the ability to create visible value within a team, project or organisation.
LEVEL 04.
INDUSTRY OPPORTUNITY AND ADVANCEMENT
Creating a stronger bridge into the profession.
Following successful completion of the Graduate Mentoring Pathway, selected participants may be considered for relevant introductions, project exposure, industry opportunities or placement pathways through participating institutions, practices and EIDA industry relationships.
Any opportunity will depend on the participant’s readiness, professional conduct, suitability, location, host requirements and the availability of an appropriate organisation.
Completion of the program does not guarantee employment, placement, promotion or an industry introduction. Level 4 exists to create the possibility of opportunity, not to promise an outcome that must ultimately be earned.
WHAT THE PATHWAY INCLUDES
Highly personalised by design.
Each Graduate Mentoring Pathway cohort includes a highly selective and limited number of designers so that every designer is seen, understood and personally supported. This also gives designers the opportunity to connect and network with fellow professionals at their level.
