EIDA Private Mentoring

Private guidance. Built around you.

There are points in a design career where another course isn't what you need.

You need perspective. Strategy. Honest feedback. Someone experienced enough to understand the industry, challenge your thinking and help you work through what comes next.
EIDA Private Mentoring provides tailored one-to-one professional guidance for designers at any stage of their career - from students and graduates through to established designers, leaders and business owners.

Every engagement is built around you: where you are now, where you want to go and what is standing between the two.

THIS ISN'T ANOTHER COURSE

Private Mentoring is intentionally different from the EIDA Graduate Pathway, group coaching and structured education programs.

There is no predetermined curriculum to work through.

Instead, we identify the areas that will create the greatest professional impact for you and use your sessions to work through real decisions, conversations, challenges, opportunities and goals.

Your mentoring may focus intensely on one issue or evolve across several areas as your career develops.

You bring the context. We determine what deserves the attention.

WHO IS PRIVATE MENTORING FOR?

Private Mentoring is available to:

  • Students preparing to enter the profession

  • Graduates and junior designers

  • Intermediate designers

  • Senior designers

  • Design leaders and managers

  • Interior stylists and related design professionals

  • Designers returning to the industry

  • Designers changing career direction

  • Freelancers and independent designers

  • Studio founders and business owners

  • Designers preparing for greater responsibility, leadership or progression

You don't need to be struggling to benefit from mentoring.

Sometimes the most valuable time to seek guidance is when things are going well, but you know you're capable of more.

WHAT CAN WE WORK ON?

There is no fixed curriculum. Your mentoring plan is developed from your application, initial session and evolving professional priorities.

NOT SURE WHICH PACKAGE?

You don't have to determine this perfectly before applying.

Tell us what you are working through, what you want to achieve and the level of support you think you need.

If your application suggests that another package would better serve you, this will be discussed before any commitment or payment is requested.

PRIVATE MENTORING + THE GRADUATE PATHWAY

Private Mentoring can also complement the EIDA Graduate Pathway.

Graduate participants who require additional individual support around a specific workplace situation, interview, opportunity, conversation, career decision or personal development area may apply for Private Mentoring alongside their program.

Private Mentoring does not replace Graduate Pathway content and is not required to successfully complete the program.

It simply provides another layer of individualised support where it is genuinely useful.

HOW IT WORKS

01.

Submit your application

Complete the Private Mentoring Application so we can understand your current position, goals, priorities and the areas where you are seeking support.

02.

Application review

Applications are personally reviewed for alignment, suitability and the level of support required.

Private Mentoring is deliberately limited so that every engagement receives the attention it deserves.

03.

Recommendation

Where appropriate, you will receive an offer for the package you selected or a recommendation for a different mentoring structure if we believe it would better serve you.

In some circumstances, we may invite you to a short suitability conversation first.

04.

Accept + Secure your place

Your offer will confirm your mentoring package, investment, payment schedule, mentoring terms and next steps. Your place is secured once the agreement and required first payment have been received.

05.

Begin

We start with an extended private strategy session to establish where you are, what needs attention and what meaningful progress should look like. From there, the mentoring evolves with you.

A RESPONSIBLE APPROACH TO INVESTMENT

Professional development should support your future - not place unnecessary pressure on your present.

The mentoring application includes several questions about financial readiness. These are not designed to assess your income, wealth or status.

They simply help ensure that taking on a mentoring package is financially appropriate for you.

You will never be pressured into selecting a larger package.

If we believe the investment may create unnecessary financial strain, we may recommend a smaller engagement, suggest waiting or simply decide that now isn't the right time.

The right mentoring decision should make professional and financial sense.

WHAT PRIVATE MENTORING IS AND WHAT IT ISN'T

  • Private Mentoring is professional development based on industry experience, strategic discussion, reflection, challenge and practical application.

  • It is not therapy, counselling, legal advice, financial advice or a guaranteed pathway to employment, promotion, salary growth or business outcomes.

  • You remain responsible for your professional decisions and actions.

  • The role of mentoring is not to make those decisions for you.

  • It is to help you make them better.

READY FOR A MORE INDIVIDUAL CONVERSATION ABOUT YOUR CAREER?

Private Mentoring places an experienced industry perspective beside you while you navigate the decisions, conversations and opportunities that shape your professional future.

Applications are reviewed individually and places are intentionally limited.
